Optimize your IT infrastructure with the Univention Corporate Server. UCS is an easy-to-administer Enterprise Linux distribution from the Univention company in Bremen. The integrated management system helps you to administer users and computers, providing you with all the core components you need to run your IT infrastructure. UCS is primarily designed for use in heterogeneous environments (Windows / Linux / Mac OS workstations and servers), as well as distribution to multiple facilities. This can be used as the basis for the integration of further services such as groupware solutions or document management systems or for virtualization. An integrated App Center offers extensive selection possibilities.

UCS is one of the first products that integrate Samba 4 and allows you to build an Active Directory domain. This includes support for group policies and the use of multiple domain controllers to increase availability. The provision of approvals via SMB / NFS is also part of it as is the management of printers with CUPS. If you can‘t do without an existing Microsoft domain, the Univention AD Connector allows you to synchronize your users into a second UCS domain (including encrypted password synchronization), bridging Windows and Linux world.
Use UCS to virtualize your servers or clients to get the most out of your hardware. You have the choice between Xen and KVM virtualization technologies, both of which are administered through a common Web interface, providing you with features such as live migration and snapshots. It goes without saying that UCS can also be run easily within virtualization solutions from other manufacturers and in the cloud.
The UCS @ school extension has been developed in close collaboration with school departments and teachers and contains numerous extensions for IT operations in schools. These include e.g. an import-gateway for student’s data, an easy-to-use management module for teachers to reset passwords and for administration of student workplaces. The school administration network and the pedagogical network can be explicitly separated with individually user rights.
Univention App Center
The Univention App Center allows you to easily integrate other third-party products into your environment. The ever-growing app catalog is already offering a variety of enterprise applications optimized for smooth operation in a UCS environment. These include groupware solutions such as the Open-Xchange App Suite or the Zarafa Collaboration platform, the agorum core Pro DMS document management system, the SuiteCRM customer relationship management platform, or e.g. the backup solution SEP sesam.
